I'll admit that most of what I know about the Black Panther comes from the comic's intersection with X-Men 10 or so years ago. But this trailer looks incredible. I can't wait to see this film.

The Dark Tower Movie Trailer and Book Synopsis
The Dark Tower movie opens tomorrow, based on a series of novels by Stephen King. I read the first two books in the series (The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three) about 15 years ago. I was living in Japan at the time and there was a small English language book library where I borrowed them. I wasn't that keen on the first one - too western for my tastes and the ending rubbed me the wrong way - but thought the second was well written, if rather bizarre. I'm really curious to see how they've adapted the first novel. Apparently after finishing the series King went back and revised The Gunslinger to be in line with the final ending.
To King, The Gunslinger demanded revision because once the series was complete it became obvious that "the beginning was out of sync with the ending." While the revision adds only 35 pages, Dark Tower purists will notice the changes to Allie's fate and Roland's interaction with Cort, Jake, and the Man in Black--all stellar scenes that will reignite the hunger for the rest of the series. Newcomers will appreciate the details and insight into Roland's life. The revised Roland of Gilead (nee Deschain) is embodied with more humanity--he loves, he pities, he regrets. What DT fans might miss is the same ambiguity and mystery of the original that gave the original its pulpy underground feel (back when King himself awaited word from Roland's world). --Daphne Durham (source)Given the changes, I might like the book better now...
If you haven't read the books, here's the Goodreads listing (the best 'back cover' I could find) for The Gunslinger:
Beginning with a short story appearing in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in 1978, the publication of Stephen King's epic work of fantasy -- what he considers to be a single long novel and his magnum opus -- has spanned a quarter of a century.
Set in a world of extraordinary circumstances, filled with stunning visual imagery and unforgettable characters, The Dark Tower series is King's most visionary feat of storytelling, a magical mix of science fiction, fantasy, and horror that may well be his crowning achievement.
Book I
In The Gunslinger (originally published in 1982), King introduces his most enigmatic hero, Roland Deschain of Gilead, the Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting, solitary figure at first, on a mysterious quest through a desolate world that eerily mirrors our own. Pursuing the man in black, an evil being who can bring the dead back to life, Roland is a good man who seems to leave nothing but death in his wake.
This new edition of The Gunslinger has been revised and expanded throughout by King, with new story material, in addition to a new introduction and foreword. It also includes four full-color illustrations in the hardcover and trade paperback formats. The Books in the series in order are:
The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
The Waste Lands
The Wind Through the Keyhole
Wolves of the Calla
Song of Susannah
The Dark Tower

Video: Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Teaser Trailer
They're calling this a teaser, but it's a real trailer. And it looks pretty amazing. The film is based on the Valerian and Laureline comics by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières, begun in 1967.

Video: Civil War Trailer
If you haven't seen it yet, the trailer for the next Captain America movie, Civil War, has dropped. And it looks goooood. I was never a fan of Cap in the comics (I was more of an X-Men rather than Avengers girl), but I love what the films have done with his character.

Movie Trailer: Crimson Peak
I don't normally like teaser trailers as they're too short to really give you an idea of what's coming, but this one for Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak, out in November, is amazing. Creepy and atmospheric, it looks like a wonderful gothic horror story. It stars Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Jessica Chastain. Here's the synopsis from IMDb.
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds...and remembers.

Movie Trailer: Poltergeist (2015)
I rewatched the 1982 Poltergeist not that long ago and it really didn't hold up like some horror movies do. So this trailer for the remake's pretty exciting. I seems to keep the original story, just with better special effects and some more terrifying scares.
The film comes out July 24th.

Movie Trailer: Expendables 3
I have to admit, I didn't have high expectations when I saw the first Expendables movie, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. The second was the same, lots of great 80s and 90s action movie cameos, quips and violence. Don't think too hard about the plots, just sit back and enjoy the ride. I expect the third film will be just as fun.

Movie Trailer: Earth to Echo
Looks like an ET remake, only with MUCH better special effects. Not keen on the hand held camera format though. I can't stand shaky cam. The film hits theatres July 2nd.

Movie Trailer: Lucy
This movie looks amazing.
Set in a futuristic world that is run by the mob, street gangs, drug addicts and corrupted cops, Lucy (Scarlett Johansson), a woman living in Taipei, Taiwan, 2069 AD, works as a drug mule for the mob. The drug she inadvertently takes goes into her system, changing her into a metahuman. Movie Trailer: X-Men Days of Future Past
Days of Future Past and Days of Future Present are two of my favourite X-Men storylines. I've been hesitant about this film because they're stories I really love and I don't want to see them done badly. But this trailer looks amazing. So I've got high hopes again.

Science Team Movie Summary and Trailer
I got an email about this film and while it sounds like it has too much gore for my taste I figured I'd post the synopsis and trailer in case others are interested. The film is currently touring on a theatrical and festival run. Check out their website for more information and to see if there's a screening near you.
Chip returns home to find his mother brutally murdered and a sessile space alien living in her house rent free. A somewhat xenophobic and bureaucratic government agency called Science Team is brought in to eliminate the extraterrestrial threat. Drama ensues. People die. Inner and extraterrestrial demons are engaged. Men in pink suits use cool-looking technology. Events culminate in a destructive orgy of violence as people's minds are literally blown out of their heads.
Filmed in Richmond, VA with the help of many talented local filmmakers and filmmakers from around the world, Science Team represents a landmark achievement in independent cinema that pushes micro-budget film-making to heights never before reached.

Movie Trailer: Antiviral
This film, available on Sundance Now (for, presumably, Americans, since it won't work for me) as well as other venues, has a very... unique premise. I'd like to believe that humans aren't dumb enough to do this, but I suspect we are.
Syd March is an employee at a clinic that sells injections of live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans. Biological communion – for a price. Syd also supplies illegal samples of these viruses to piracy groups, smuggling them from the clinic in his own body. When he becomes infected with the disease that kills super sensation Hannah Geist, Syd becomes a target for collectors and rabid fans. He must unravel the mystery surrounding her death before he suffers the same fate.

Rock Jocks Movie Trailer
We stumbled across a movie trailer last night that looks pretty good. Rock Jocks are the misfits who run the US government's covert Asteroid Management Initiative. The AMI was started after an alien told the government that an asteroid belt would collide with earth. The movie details the night shift of Rock Jocks dealing with boredom and the bureaucrat who's trying to cut their budget.
You can scroll through the cast list on their website, including Felicia Day (The Guild), Kevin Wu (KevJumba), Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager).

Cloud Atlas Movie Trailer
I reviewed the book by David Mitchell here some time ago. The writing was fantastic. I really hope they can do the book justice, and looking at this trailer, they're well on their way.
(Sorry about the ad, I grabbed the trailer from Wired. You have to click through to watch it if you're using Google Reader. If you want to watch the trailer without an ad, or clicking through, io9 is where I saw it first.)
