This is a wonderful video about the automata created in the 1700s and the technological advances made by clockmakers and other artisans and how they changed the Western world. The presenter is Professor Simon Schaffer.

BBC Comedy - Single White Feline
Single White Female tries to figure out why all her relationships go sour... FAST. At least she's got a cat to love. The BBC embedding info mentions that this may not be visible outside the UK (though I'm in Canada and able to watch it). If you can't see it here, try their site.
I'll have more SF/F related posts again starting tomorrow. Just needed a kitty break. :)

My Blackberry Is Not Working
Technology taken literally. Why are communications devices all named after fruit? (And for those of you, like me, who aren't British, Orange is a mobile service provider and, according to ken345a, who commented on the youtube video, "a Dongle is a physical device you plug into your computer to enable some programs".)
I grabbed this from Mag.ma, which got it from the BBC's youtube site as a preview for The One Ronnie.
