Shout-Out: The Future’s Dark Past by John Yarrow

When futuristic soldiers jump back in time to save mankind from a nuclear winter, a modern day FBI agent is reluctantly drawn into their time dimensional battles. His AI technology may be the most effective weapon to avoid The Purge War that destroys civilization in 2098...or it may be the perfect trigger.

I've read this - it was my first jump back into sci-fi in years, and it was a blast to read.

A very well done book by a new to the scene writer! The story in and of itself is well crafted and an intriguing plot. Add well done time travel (and good IT) and you've got a winner of a read. Can't wait for more from this writer.

“The Future’s Dark Past” combines the adventurous characters of Robert Heinlein with the science of Isaac Azimov and gives us a literary gift that propels us into Sci-Fi future. I can't wait for John Yarrow's next book!

This book was a new genre for me and I wasn’t disappointed. Time jumps and time travel who wouldn’t want to go? Enjoyed the characters and their development to the story line. Now I did on occasion get confused on some of the time jumps and I actually had to write down when these characters first had contact with each other. Some might say that’s too much trouble BUT I say it’s becasue the author kept me interested and I wanted more. I was left wanting more at the conclusion yet knowing there’s more in the “future” I can’t wait.

Hard to believe this is the writer's debut first book. Well-crafted plot development, combining sci-fi and thriller genres.

Gripping from the opening paragraph. The author's use of imagery is amazing. The entire novel is so visual, I am now waiting for the movie! Does anyone know if there is a prequel or sequel to this?

Impressively written plot that intricately weaves detailed elements across the spectrum of time while drawing the reader in more deeply with every twist. It's a complex set of stories, while still fun and comfortable to read.
