I preferred The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King to The Gunslinger (as I'm not much of a western fan). I really enjoyed Allow of Law, though.Jessica Striderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13375221959854098665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5625938726369573756.post-30730740800007392932013-02-24T01:27:28.054-05:002013-02-24T01:27:28.054-05:00The Half-Made World and The Rise of Ransom City by...The Half-Made World and The Rise of Ransom City by Felix Gilman definitely belong here.RedEyedGhosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598706473655396491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5625938726369573756.post-20045534632462535312013-02-23T23:38:03.624-05:002013-02-23T23:38:03.624-05:00Red Country really should count... It's everything a Western should be... except it doesn't take place in the American West, and there are no handguns.

I would heartily recommend King's The Gunslinger to any who haven't read it (although it also doesn't take place in the American West). It's a classic. Alloy of Law is also well worth the read.

For those that want to get into the really weird, Gemma File's "A Book of Tongues" mixes the Wild West with Dark Magic, Mayan Gods and raw sexuality. Not for the faint of heart. gmackhttp://www.laviegeek.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5625938726369573756.post-76099346134896278552013-02-23T19:06:10.670-05:002013-02-23T19:06:10.670-05:00Do you have any recommendations from that list?
